NeST Rolls Out Multi-Media IPs

NeST, today unveiled several multi-media IPs targeting customers looking for customized hardware based video processing solutions. The set consists of Video Processing Cores for major FPGA platforms and a multi-media framework, supporting several customizable codecs and trick-play characteristics.





NeST-NVIDIA Centre for GPU Computing inaugurated by Dr. Bill Dally, Chief Scientist, NVIDIA

NVIDIA Corporation, the world leader in Visual Computing initiatives and NeST, a premier provider of specialized Software and Engineering services announced the setting up of their Centre for GPU Computing at the NeST premises in Technopark, Trivandrum. The Center was inaugurated on 16th Dec 2009 by Dr. Bill Dally, Chief Scientist, NVIDIA.

 

NeST has set up the Centre for GPU (graphics processing unit) computing as part of its business focus on High performance Computing (HPC). Early success for Ashlings Opella-XDS560 JTAG Probe for TI Devices

The Opella-XDS560 JTAG probe, launched in Q2 2009, by the Ashling Division of the NeST Group is already proving to be a big hit with Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) developers.

Opella-XDS560 is a high performance JTAG Debug Probe supporting all TI platforms. The product has been successfully verified by TI in India and US.

NeST achieves Automotive SPICE Level 5 Certification - 4th company in the world

Network Systems and Technologies Pvt Ltd (NeST) - a part of the NeST Group of Companies, has announced that its Automotive Software division has achieved Automotive SPICE Organizational Maturity Level 5 certification under the PATHFINDERTM scheme.  NeST becomes the fourth company in the world and the first company in Technopark to receive the Automotive SPICE Maturity Level 5 certification. 

Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) is a framework for assessing software development processes for automotive applications.  The ASPICE initiative is supported by several car manufactures such as Audi, BMW, Ford, Fiat, Daimler, Porsche, Volkswagen and Volvo and has today become a standard in the international automotive industry 

A joint assessment team from Impronova AB (Sweden) and KPMG (India) carried out the week long assessment of NeSTs Automotive Software Group.  The assessment team leader was Alec Dorling from Impronova AB. 

Alec Dorling , who is also the international convener of the ISO/IEC standardization project said: NeST joins the select group of companies that have achieved certification to Automotive SPICE Maturity Level 5 under the PATHFINDERTM scheme. This is a significant achievement and reaffirms NeSTs commitment to adhere to worlds best practices in developing software for the automotive industry. With the quantum of software required to be developed for Automobiles increasing exponentially, the addition of NeST as an ASPICE high maturity developer can only be beneficial to the industry.

NeST acquires Ashling

NeST has bought Ashling Microsystems Ltd. (Limerick, Ireland) a supplier of embedded software and hardware development tools for an undisclosed amount.

NeST provides information technology outsourcing services around the world and has growth plans for Ashling's development tools business which it intends to turn into an embedded systems development services business unit, Ashling said.

"Ashling is a very good fit for the NeST group," said Javad Hassan, chairman of NeST (Chantilly, Virginia), in a statement issued by Ashling. "The real-time embedded software development tools business of Ashling has strong potential and we will leverage our depth of engineering resources and worldwide presence to drive growth in this area. We will also work with the Ashling team to establish an EU based centre of excellence for embedded software services and we are hopeful that we can rapidly grow the software services business in Europe."
