SFO Technologies (P) Ld (The flagship company of NeST Group) and Hitachi, Ltd ,Japan forms a JV in INDIA.

SFO Technologies (P) Ld (The flagship company of NeST Group) and  Hitachi, Ltd , Japan have agreed to form Joint Venture Company in INDIA in the field of advanced control systems for thermal power plants. The joint venture company, Hitachi NeST Control Systems Pvt. Ltd. is scheduled to be established in October 2011. The JV shall be head quartered at Bangalore, India. Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi and SFO Technologies will own the joint venture's shares 70 and 30, respectively.

 With the rapid economic progress of India, the market for information and control systems for social infrastructure is expected to grow in leaps and bounds. Power is a critical infrastructure on which socio-economic development of India depends. India is expected to add 200 GW of production capacity in the next 10 years. Majority of this capacity addition shall be via thermal power plants especially through large sized supercritical units. It is against this backdrop, Hitachi and SFO Technologies are forming a Joint Venture to provide engineering, manufacturing, commissioning and after-service advanced control systems for thermal power plants. SFO Technologies will merge its existing control systems division with the new joint venture company and offer its manufacturing space and hardware development, software development and system integration expertise for localizing the technology in India.

Hitachi and SFO Technologies will expand their power plant control systems businesses in India through this JV. This will be achieved by converging the strengths of each company - Hitachi's leading edge control technologies, advanced manufacturing technologies, wealth of experience and expertise in plant control systems and SFO Technologiess  experience of more than 15 years in the development and system integration of control systems and its highly skilled employees, as well as its nationwide sales and service network in India. Hitachi NeST Control Systems Pvt. Ltd. is targeting sales of approximately 1.5 billion Indian Rupees in the fiscal year ending in March 2015.

PathFinder-XD Debugger Software Released

The free PathFinder-XD Simulator software is targeted at MIPS architectures and includes the popular QEMU simulator which allows you to download and debug your MIPS based application programs without any target hardware. 
For hardware debugging on your target hardware, Ashling has an extended PathFinder-XD product allowing support for Ashlings Opella-XD JTAG and Vitra JTAG and Trace Debug Probes. The high performance of these Debug Probes makes them particularly suitable for large, complex, software-intensive projects requiring fast code download.

Opella-XDS560 is a high performance JTAG Debug Probe supporting all TI platforms. The product has been successfully verified by TI in India and US.

NeST achieves Automotive SPICE Level 5 Certification - 4th company in the world

Network Systems and Technologies Pvt Ltd (NeST) - a part of the NeST Group of Companies, has announced that its Automotive Software division has achieved Automotive SPICE Organizational Maturity Level 5 certification under the PATHFINDERTM scheme.  NeST becomes the fourth company in the world and the first company in Technopark to receive the Automotive SPICE Maturity Level 5 certification. 

Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) is a framework for assessing software development processes for automotive applications.  The ASPICE initiative is supported by several car manufactures such as Audi, BMW, Ford, Fiat, Daimler, Porsche, Volkswagen and Volvo and has today become a standard in the international automotive industry 

A joint assessment team from Impronova AB (Sweden) and KPMG (India) carried out the week long assessment of NeSTs Automotive Software Group.  The assessment team leader was Alec Dorling from Impronova AB. 

Alec Dorling , who is also the international convener of the ISO/IEC standardization project said: NeST joins the select group of companies that have achieved certification to Automotive SPICE Maturity Level 5 under the PATHFINDERTM scheme. With the quantum of software required to be developed for Automobiles increasing exponentially, the addition of NeST as an ASPICE high maturity developer can only be beneficial to the industry.

NeST acquires Ashling

NeST has bought Ashling Microsystems Ltd. (Limerick, Ireland) a supplier of embedded software and hardware development tools for an undisclosed amount.

NeST provides information technology outsourcing services around the world and has growth plans for Ashling's development tools business which it intends to turn into an embedded systems development services business unit, Ashling said.

"Ashling is a very good fit for the NeST group," said Javad Hassan, chairman of NeST (Chantilly, Virginia), in a statement issued by Ashling. "The real-time embedded software development tools business of Ashling has strong potential and we will leverage our depth of engineering resources and worldwide presence to drive growth in this area. We will also work with the Ashling team to establish an EU based centre of excellence for embedded software services and we are hopeful that we can rapidly grow the software services business in Europe."
